Chinese herbal medicine (CHM) is an important part of TCM and is used either alone or in conjunction with acupuncture to facilitate healing in the body. Chinese herbs are available in either a raw form (which is cooked and decocted for drinking), powdered form (to be mixed with warm water), or pill form. Most people prefer a pill for ease of ingestion, but the powdered and raw forms are typically stronger and can be individually chosen to create a formula that is specifically for you and your condition. In addition, they can be adjusted as needed to increase or decrease a particular function of the herbal formula. While the pill comes as a more "generalized" formula, this can still be helpful for many people and may be all you need.
CHM can treat a variety of internal and external conditions (just like acupuncture can). This ranges from pain, headaches, sleep issues, digestive issues, fertility, chronic pain, common cold or flu, menstrual issues, autoimmune issues, and much more. CHM helps to continue your treatment at home in between (or sometimes instead of) acupuncture treatments.
